My 1983 Kat 750 looooooong term project
This is my long term project. I'm trying to develop a modern version of the awesome original Katana. This is how I envision it. I need a Bandit 1200 swingarm and GSXR1100 forks. It'll definitely get a bigger engine, either an 1100 GSXR or a 1200 Bandit.

As a newbie to Katanas, I like it so far. I think your bodywork flows nicely. The original styling looks awkward to me and its a kind of either love it or hate it proposition. I have always hated it as it seems unfinished, especially the gap between the side panels and the back end. I think the later 'pop tops' have a more pleasing and finished look.
You are definitely on the right track and I'll be following with interest.
Be prepared to get bombed by the Katana purists however.
Cheers,
spyug
Outstanding man room by the way. I wish I had that kind of space and could keep it clean and tidy. I am envious.Last edited by Guest; 01-26-2010, 01:50 PM.

looks good man, you need to fill the crack in the floor so it doesnt get worse, mine got wider and wider , they will keep spreading, and it isnt hard to fill it, just a suggestion

Cut the lower portion of the subframe out tonight to get ready for doing the monoshock. Raised the seat height to get it looking more aggresive, looks spot-on now ;D

Thanks everyone, Spyug, I figured I'd get a few lashings from the Kat-purists. The man-cave took a lot of work, it used to be a 2 car carport that I enclosed and wired. I love it!

Really interesting so far. Only thing that bothers me is the windshield. I think you should keep it close to stock, in other words, just lightly modify it.
Other than that - it has a lot of promise. Looking forward to following it!

Well, I started on the new subframe tonight. Just needs a couple of triangulated braces and two cross braces and it'll be set.
