i just googled VMT epoxy paint ...try vhtpaint.com..thats all i can find on the can

OK the vhtpaint .com brings up the high temp/ engine coating stuff.. If you google vht epoxy paint then select the VHT epoxy all weather paint option it will lead you to the specialty products page i found it on..

The yht part was confusing. I can get VHT paint at Summit Racing. I use their caliper paint for carbs. Thanks for the tip, I'll try some.

Now I'm really glad I asked because I have no idea, well I go to the sandblaster and see what he has to say. He's done a few frames. I'll keep you posted!!

Don't listen to those powder sniffers , go with the 2 pak paint . I've got my 'S apart at the moment and 5 years on and the frame is still smick . It'll cost less than a third than for powder puffing .

The shop that is powdercoating my frame (for free...I bartered with them) would normally charge 250.00 to blast and powdercoat. Not a bad price, I think. The cost should be similar elsewhere.

Not down this way . It must be because we're upside down and all our money falls up out of our pockets . Most businesses know this and try to grab as much as they can before it's all gone .

That's not correct about having to take off wire looms. Powder is very flexible. I inquired about this of my PC'er, and he gave me a piece of sheetmetal he powdercoated. he told me that if i could crack the coating it with my hands, he would do my frame and swinger for free. I ended up paying for the job . the powder moved as easy as the sheetmetal with no cracking.

seriously though, PC is very flexible. i just got done getting my frame, swinger, headlight bucket and ears, fork legs, triple clamps, all engine covers, brake calipers, rims and hubs, side stand, handlebars, rear sets, master cylinders, and some brackets done. i am extremely pleased with the outcome. the only way to go for durability and finish. My powder was done with a 50% gloss black, with a 90% gloss clear powder on top. it looks amazing.

Keep in mind guys that just as there are different types of liquid paint, there are different types of powder coat. Urethane and polyester are two that come to mind and I think there are epoxy too. Back where I used to work we did some testing and the urethane was much better than polyester for corrosion durability. Good stuff for sure but I went with Por-15 two part paint for my first 1000S. Blasting and powder for $250 sounds hard to beat though.

For once, just once, we've got something cheaper in the UK. My local guys will do a brilliant job for £80 cash.
