The black itself isnt so bad..but I think theirs too much of it...I like the blackened out look but maybe throw in some aluminum polish or some other color somewhere..I dont have much room to criticise being the paint on my bike is rattle can and bedliner on the tank. But hey I'm a mechanic not a painter..lol

Good thing about rattlecan paint job is you can change it when ever you want and the color choices are endless....

Different strokes for different folks but...
(you wanted us to be honest)
...to me, it looks like horrible. The huge fairing and the massive "king and queen" styled seat are like needles in my eyes. I realize it's an L-model but even so, I think the original paintscheme would have done the bike more justice, even if it was in bad shape.
Also, why does the tank say Suzumi (スズミ) and not Suzuki (スズキ)?
You ought to fix that.

Doesn't do it for me either. Looks what it is - a bike sprayed in matt black with no masking off. Still, if you like it it's job well done and that's all that matters.
To do a proper rat in my opinion takes a lot of time and zero money. It's all about finding something that doesn't fit / wasn't designed for that purpose and making it work - old fire extinguishers for petrol tanks, putlug for an exhaust, that sort of thing.79 GS1000S

Truth
I love flat paint. I despise shiny, loud paint jobs on anything. If it has to be shiny I at least like a monochromatic look. But in order to get a "proper" rat look it does take time, effort, and work. It doesn't look like this took any of those things. Flat black, red, or OD green paint jobs are beautiful. They deserve to be done right.
It's so easy to take off the tank and plastics to paint them right it's silly not to. And yes, you can get a really nice paint job from a rattle can if you use the right rattle can and do some prep. But dude, come on.... You didn't do it. This looks like BBQ grill paint. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that it is.
My opinion... There are a lot of things that are so ugly, they look cool. This is just ugly. I know what you're going for but honestly, you missed the mark.

This bike looks like it can only make dull squeaky wet fart noises.
Speaking of farting noises, I think I will take another huge dump and go for another long ride in the mountains, on another one of my ugly bikes, or maybe even on the pretty Suzuki this time.

I never ask for opinions on my bikes--I don't care what people think--I build my bikes for me--My opinion on your bike is not important--If you like it, that's all that matters--RIDE ON!!!

uninspired, "spur of the moment thought" look.
but it's your bike. I honestly don't give a @#$ what anyone might think about MY bike, but then, I didn't post THAT pic on a public forum full of purists and ask what they think.

I don't like it as much as a perfectly restored model, but
I think its an improvement over what it was. What I hate to
see is a rusty bike. I like it.
