Lowering 80 Gs
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO LOWER A 1980 GS1100 ABOUT 1 1/2 INCHES IN FRONT AND TWO IN THE REARTags: None

It would be best IMO if you just lowered the seat, but if you decide to lower the front and rear suspension lower them the same amount so you keep the same geometry, but you would still lose ground clearance and you can never have enough of that!!!
You can lower the rear by using shorter shocks and you can lower the front end by using shorter springs (preferably progressive ones) or shortening your old ones, these changes will make you bottom out faster.

I have a new lowering kit, chrome for GS bikes.
Unfortunately my 83 GS650GD doesnt fit any GS parts. Figures. everything is off just A BIT. should work on yours though.
Its for the rear shocks only. better than 80 bucks each for shocks.
