Spoke wheels
So I have an 81 450L with mag wheels. Im not a big fan of mag wheels in general, and I want to get spoke ones instead. I see that the 82 450a has spoke wheels... would these fit on my bike? I'm thinking of going to a huge salvage yard a couple hours away from me to see if I can get some. I'm not to keen with wheel compatibility, so are there other after market brands that would fit? Or other GS model spoke wheels that would fit mine?Tags: None

the 450A is shaft drive, so no it won't fit.
Try looking for the older 400/425 bikes, they "should" fit, but no guarantees.

Hmm thanks, I'll have to look into that. It also appears that the 82 450TXZ had spoke wheels and was chain driven (or at least according to Bike Bandit: http://www.bikebandit.com/1982-suzuk...450txz/o/m6047 ) But what are the odds of me getting a couple of these wheels from a salvage yard?

Your L should have come with 18" front and rear. The T's came with 19" fronts and 17" rears. Just something to be aware of. Should you find a way to make it work I'd be interested, as spokes are something I thought of looking into too.

why did suzuki have to make things so difficult Anyway, thanks for the info. Now, are there after market wheel that would fit my bike? Or am I just SOL on the whole spoke look?

you should be able to fit any same year spokes, and a lot of same model (400/425/450) but the fender may need some fab work is all.

Might be OK with an L, but no way am I putting 19" on the front and a 17" on the rear of an E or S.

I'd have to see it on an E, but my thoughts on my (little) bike is that they would look way out of place, more 'chopper' styled than I care for. Since the 450E wasn't made with those sizes intended, it would seem to me that the front would get raised and the rear dropped.
