    3.5" rim in stock '79 swing arm

    hi, does anybody know if a 3.5" width rim will fit in a stock '79 gs1000 swing arm?? have rim already and my tire on my stock rim needs replacing. so i thought i would try. thank you for your help!!

    What size tyre are you going to put on it? It's possible but you may need to switch to an 1100 arm to gain extra clearance.

    You'll definitely have to adjust or re-make the brake torque arm & may need to do something to get the chain lined up, at the minimum I would think you'll need to convert to a 530 setup.

      was hoping to fit a 140/70/17. i have a '83 1100 swing arm that is extended 4", but need to have chain made. thanks for your help

        140 might just fit with a 530 chain setup...
