    Headlight size

The glass lense on my headlight is 7" diam. But its 8" including the metal.

Ive been looking at aftermarket mini fairings on ebay and most say "for 7" lamps". But is this the glass size or overall size do you think?

I dont want to but one and then find out its too small!

    Cheers!

You should be fine. Now if you had the big 8" train headlight it would be a different story.

IIRC, only the 82-83 1100E models had the train light. Everyone else got a tiny 7" or even smaller light.

        GS700E got it too.

.....and the '84-'86 GS1150E/ES as well.

Also, Yamaha 650 Secas came with an 8" freight train headlight. I currently have one on "Betty" that came off said Yamaha model.

Like Yamahas count for anything except parts bikes....
I can say that, look at my previous bikes, and I liked them all (for what they were).

              Steel Mesh

Just to jump in and pinch this thread for a minute or two..

Has anyone seen the old steel mesh headlight guards that used to be around?
I thought it would be kind of cool to fit one up to the 750.
              But, alas, I can't find one...yet.
