Isocyanate's found in this kind of paint are BAD. My understanding is that a charcoal spray mask doesn't properly scrub the air so you need a spray mask that supplies fresh air if you want to be fully protected. Spraying outside with lots of ventilation is highly recommended if you don't have a fresh air supply system, and if you cut corners please make sure you are not standing in a haze of the stuff breathing it all in. That shower spray booth is not recommended for this reason, although it was an ingenious idea.Ed

Point taken, I should put a disclaimer on it. I honestly didnt even breath in that room. It was deep breath, spray a light coat and out.

I used this stuff on my tank the other day. It dries hard and fast (and glossy). Unfortunately I did mine out in the back yard (I did the hold my breath thing) and ended up with a couple of bugs in it. Sanded it down and going to try again, this time in the driveway instead of the grass. I'll also do it during the day instead of at dusk (I got impatient), the tank is yellow and it almost glowed in the dark, think the bugs thought it was a light.
BTW- I got it here http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_2_part_2k_aerosol.cfm it is a couple of dollars cheaper

Hmmmm. Reading the first few posts, I got really excited that there's a clear coat that isn't affected by gas. NOW, I'm a lil concerned. Makein me think about renting the paint booth at the hobby shop to paint my bike this winter. I have my own fresh air paint mask but no compressor at my house.

I've sprayed my share of catalyzed urethane without using a fresh air system but it's always been in either a down draft spray booth or outside. Last time spraying clear the air was really still and a fog developed around the parts so I had to slow down after each part to let the cloud dissipated before moving to the next. No doubt I've breathed in a fair bit of that crap even though I always use a charcoal mask. Don't want to make people paranoid just pass along a little caution if you spray that stuff in an enclosed area.Ed

Every since a good friend developed a high toxicity level in his body, and almost died, from spraying nitrocellulous laquer in his non-ventilated basement, I've always exercised a lot of caution when spraying any type of paint of clearcoat. Please be very careful folks. Your life could literally depend on it.Current Bikes:

yeah it sure is scary! i used goggles and a respirator and sprayed it outside! took my chances with the bugs it wasnt so buggy out.... like i said i didnt smell a thing while i had the respirator on, when i took it off inside my house i immediately became overwhelmed by the smell on my shirt etc. i knew there was something about this paint that was different from regular rattle can... i mean this stuff was NASTY! it sure does the job when it comes to being a protective clear coat... next time i am going to cover all my skin as well! i am gonna get to sanding it and taking a picture of the finished tank one of these days ive just been so tired...John 3:16
