    John Player

I have been thinking about paint for my 80 gs1100/gsxr/Bandit conversion. I am old enough to remember the John Players Special paint jobs....gloss black with gold accents

The tank, tail piece and side covers would be black. Lettering on the tank & covers would be gold, maybe a little gold striping but not much. There would be gold calipers, maybe gold wheels & a few gold accents, the whole point is to make it subdued, classy, not garish in any way.

    Your thoughts?

Does anyone have a bike pic or maybe someone would do a quick photoshop pic for me?

I used to have a match box or hot wheels car like that.

I would think it would look good but done with gold leaf.

That has to be one of the sexiest open wheelers of all time ever!

Back in 1984 Suzuki did something like that with the Katanas - Black engine, forks, gold frame and swingarm with little gold bits here and there.
Looked nice but didn't age very well. At least mine didn't.

I would think that rather than painting the whole calipers gold, paint black and accent them instead.

Also black wheels with a gold ring around would be so cool!

Maybe I should use this as inspiration for my 84 Kat.....
