Powdercoat is very resistant--but not impervious--to fuel. I had my tank powdercoated and have a shiny streak where I had some gas spill down the side of the tank and sit there until it evaporated.

Be careful about epoxy-based coatings. They will yellow in a huge way! ,BK

If epoxy based coating tend to yellow what is it that the factories put on the gas tanks originally to protect them from fuel and give a good shiny coat?

This was my dupli color rattle can spray paint job. Came out pretty good for a rattle can.

Epoxy has multiple benzene rings that just hate UV light. Keep them out of the sun (like the the underneath of cars), and they'll keep their shine just fine. ,BK
