What tanks will fit my 650e?

Hey guys, the tank on 650e is leaking and its time for a new/used one. The previous owner kleemed the tank and its now leaking so thats not an option either. it seems that these 650es were not as popular as the shaft drive Gs and Ls. I am having zero luck finding a tank from a 650e but there are some out there for 650Gs and 650Ls. The 650L tanks def. don't look the same as mine but the 650Gs look almost the same. Is this right? I guess my question in short form is what tanks will fit my E-model?

650G tank fits fine, I have a 650E tank on my 650G. The only difference is there's no provision for the fuel quantity gauge on the G.

      Hi,

What year is your bike? For the model years '81 and '82 the part number for the tank is 44100-34200 which supersedes 44100-34500. (The last three characters in the tank's part number - not shown - are the color code.) This is the same part number for the '81 GS650G. The part number changes for the '82 650G so I'm not sure if that year will fit your bike.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

Oh, yeah, they changed the rear mounting to a two bolt system in about 1983 I think.

I don't think it's easy, but Kreem can be removed with MEK. Then you could coat with something more sturdy like Caswell.
