    Red/White?? Red/Silver?? Can't decide

Planning on doing this in the next few days to my 650:

My problem is I can't decide if I want the stripes white or silver. The tiny black stripes will be black, the gray area on the side of the tank will be darker gray, but I can't decide on the bigger stripes. What thinks the hive? Any comments?

My vote is for the white. I think it will contrast the red better than silver and will make the gray stand out more. Grey next to silver can look odd. Grey next to white is a clearer definition.

White will look better. Here's my GS500E for an example. The yellow S and pink decals were the PO's doing, but ignore those....I wanted to show you the tank and tailpiece to get an idea. You can see the front fender in the background too.

As long as the red is dark then go bright silver metallic.

I was leaning towards white anyway. Thanks, guys!

Thanks so much for those pics Lurch! I'm torn as to what to do with my bike but that pretty much sealed it for me except I'm going blue and white.

I was thinking kind of a cream color would look classy.

                      I was thinking that too.

I tried to tweak the image to see/show the difference (original on left, cream on right). Now that I'm looking at it, I'm not sure I made the cream obvious enough. I grabbed the shade from an image of the Bonneville T100. I think it looks more sporty in white though if that's what you're going for:

Red & White but I do not think the gas tank knee inset flows with the side cover

Yeah, I tried several different things in that area, didn't like any of them. Got any ideas?

Well you could either try a sort of "S" side cover thing splitting it 50/50 white and red with a black stripe and white stripe to break it up, or try to emulate the scallop look in the tank with a white swoop. Or you could do the stripe style you have going down the spine offset on the cover, biased toward the top. Just my .02

Josh, I read this six times and I don't have a clue what you are talking about.
                              Can you show me?

I was thinking of having the white on the side of the tank swoop down onto the side cover and then go back, in one continuous curve but several tries on the stupid color program and I didn't get it right. Maybe I should try again.
