    gs1000s fairing brackets needed

I've come to a dead end looking for fairing brackets; the bikes getting pretty popular again and I guess the brackets go in a crash. My bike came with a damaged fairing and no brackets; it's otherwise pretty stock 1000st.

Babbitts and Alphasports are both out of stock, and can't get hold of any. There's none in Australia. I don't have a set to take to a factors to copy.

These are the parts I need. I reckon I could manage without the cushions!

    1 of 94510-49001 - BRACKET, RH @ $24.67ea.
    1 of 94520-49001 - BRACKET, LH @ $24.67ea.
    2 of 94573-49000 - CUSHION @ $3.13ea.
    1 of 51458-49741-291 - GUIDE, COWLING RH @ $7.06ea.
    1 of 51468-49741-291 - GUIDE, COWLING LH @ $8.91ea.

Does anyone know how to get hold of any? I've spent ages on this and I'd have a pretty realistic budget on either getting some made or getting hold of some.

If there's anyone in Perth who has a GS1000s with fairing brackets It'd obviously be great if we could arrange something so I could get some copied.

My metalwork skills aren't great; I built some really short brackets once for my (then) racebike but they weren't very pretty!

    Best wishes

There have been several threads on this subject over the years, including some guy in your part of the world that made his own set of fairing brackets not too long ago. Please do some digging in the archives since the threads in question included a lot of photos of the parts, many from me. You are free to go to my photobucket albums and look around for photos too - I've restored two S's and have tons of photos (check both albums). If necessary I could take some additional photos or measurements but I think you will quickly get the idea of what needs to be done if you see photos.

      Hi

Nice bike! I can't imagine how much work it would be to get it looking that good.

I've spent what seems like hours reading as many threads (and websites) as I can. Most people have got them from Suzuki dealers who mostly seem to have run out. The guy in my part of the world ordered them from a dealer and then modified them to suit his bike.

I'll have a close look at your photos tho - thanks for the link and thanks for the offer of the additional photos. I reckon it'd be hard for a local factor (or me) to work from a photo but I'll try as a last resort.

I'm still interested if anyone has any or knows of a place to get them!

      Best wishes

I found this thread by searching for 3 min. Yes, I am highly skilled. The advanced search feature here is wonderful...
