    Parts back from chroming

There was a fair amount of scratches, pitting and rust on the GS1000's seat rail and left-side grab handle, so off they went to the chromers. Now they're back and ready to instal.

        They look better than new.
Which begs the question how much does it cost?

If I was a crow I would take those. It reminds me of the day I brought my nuts and bolts home from being cad plated. Very nice.

I had an aluminum clutch cover off my GPZ1100 rechromed at a shop here in Dayton. It had been chromed once before and half of it had peeled back off. The shop here in Dayton took it on and regretted it because it took them several tries to get it to stay. Came out nice though.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I am pretty pleased with the results.

As to cost...... things are expensive in Europe, These 2 items were 110 Euros to plate. It's a 3 step process. First stripping the old chrome plating, then polishing to prep surface, finally re-chroming.

I had it done by this old school craftsman near the Belgium border in Vrigne-Aux-Bois, France about 1.5 hours from where I live in Luxembourg.

Wouldn't it be easier to have your clutch cover polished to a mirror finish instead of chrome plated? Aluminum can be brought to a mirror finish if done right.
