custom handlebars?
I am looking to replace my original handlebars (buckhorn style) for a lower design. I would like suggestions as to what kind and where I could purchase a drag or euro-style bar that would work on my 79 GS 1000E. I would need adequate clearance for the tank and still be able to mount the mirrors and controls. I would like to hear what has worked for others. Thanks.Tags: None

When I was using my bike, GS1000G to ride courier work I fitted it out with a set of OEM GS650 Katana bars, they worked perfectly, good riding position, no sore back, or wrists.
And I was doing on average 800km a day, 6 days a week.
They look good as well, black chrome and come standard with weighted ends.

I had daytonas on my 1100 e, looked great fit well but the buzz made my hands very numb an hour or so after I would finish the ride.

Stock G model bars are far more comfortable than the buckhorns.
Or any stock E bars if you like them a bit lower.
