    chain guards on or off?

my chain guard is in sad shape and im contemplating just getting rid of it. any reason to keep it besides splatter from chain lube?

    #2
Splatter should be reason enough to keep it.
I don't know if its any safety issues.

How bad is it? Have you tried metal polish.
If its too bad strip the chrome and paint it.

OEM is only 100 bucks at alpha-sports
61311-49002-019 is your oem part and 61310-49100 is the part number for the L of that same year.

Come on, guys, let's add some injury to those insults.

                          Our chains have automatic tensioners.

If you ride with a passenger, then check the position of the rear footrest... you don't want any risk of contact between the chain and feet

None here in years but then I don't have passenger pegs either. My left rearset from an early Gixxer does have a bit of chainguard built into it.
