I have one of those Spitfire windshields on my '81 1100E - works pretty well, not real big & fits over that square headlight nicely.

The Deflector offers decent wind protection...I have it pictured here at full height extension, but others choose to lower it fully (it fits well, around the large headlight) and just take the wind off the chest area.

Front view... sorry for the large pics.

Love the bike! That windshield actually looks good like that, I never thought of mounting it that high but I can definitely see the advantages of why you did. Nice bike

      I especially like the color!

Thanks Wacky, I see you too have excellent taste in colours!
With the shield at this height, wind catches me near the top of the helmet.....with the slightest of crouches, I get near-silent wind protection. Another reason I like it higher, is that the gap between the bottom of the shield and the gauges allows air to pass, reducing buffeting at high speeds, and also reducing the low pressure that typically builds up behind the screen.....this vacuum of sorts would be strong enough to suck my helmet visor to the open position frequently, when the screen was lowered & flush with the headlight....quite annoying.
