Painted and Mounted Maier Fairing

Ok, time to brag a little. Here's my little fairing all painted up and mounted:

I think it came out ok. It was nice not to have to use those bulky handlebar mounts. I used the fork brackets from these turnsignal relocators I had:

Made the upper brackets out of some aluminum bar stock and the lower brackets out of some L brackets from the hardware store.

I haven't had it out on the highway yet as I just got it installed tonight. But around the neighborhood, it seems like it just kinda knocks the windblast down a notch, which is what I was looking for. I'll know more after I get out on the highway and do 70 or so.

Thanks man. It came out pretty decent I think. Head on over to Autozone and check out their duplicolor paint. The type is called "perfect match" and they have many color choices. Who knows, they may have something that matches yours. I was amazed at how close this matched my bike.

Ditching the jammer. I took it off on a whim to see how it felt and was blown away at how much more acceleration there was without it. That was all I needed to feel to decide to leave the Vetter off.

That fairing looks right at home, even with the rest of the touring accessories. Nice job. Quarter fairings are great for blocking the wind off your chest. Can't light a match behind one like with the Vetter, but sacrifices have to be made....

I'm not sure, but now that you mention it, the side covers and fairing look to be just a hair lighter in color. It's hard to see though. Very nice.

Good eye. Yes, they are a tad bit lighter. I found out after the fact that there is as shade available that's just a bit darker. I wish I would have used that.
