Throttle pod switch / handlebar hole location

On 80 and later GS's, there's a hole on the underside of the handlebars on the right side that engages a pin on the right side switch pod. Can anyone tell me how far from the end of the bar that hole is drilled?

This is on a 80+ GS850. My handlebars don't have the hole, I don't have a stock bar, and my new switch pod needs the hole.

You could put the throttle tube in the switch housing, slide it on as much as you can and score the handlebar with the tab in the housing. Then drill a hole and there ya go. At least that's how I worked around it. Good luck.
