OH NO ! Can this be repaired?

After I put my bike together, I have been riding it for a while, so I decided to top up the gas tank and use it regulary.

After a few days this has happened:

I assume the tank has rusted BEHIND the Suzuki logo and once I put the gas in, it was so rusted that the gas came through

My question: Can a leak like this be repaired? I know there are tank seals, but maybe its better to get a new tank?

Yes it CAN be repaired. Any guy that good with some acetylene torched can carefully braze them. I have mig welded holes and rebuilt several corners in tanks that had holes the size of a thumb nail and bigger. A savvy welder can fill the holes.. Then once the holes are filled to supply some base metal you should seal then tank to add an extra layer of protection. Serach for my skunbk resto project. Thread name is something like Chucks 78 1000 project..there are pics in nthere of the back corner i rebuilt for the bike..

Like Chuck said, it can be repaired, no big deal there, any boilermaker worth half his qualification can repair that, the problem is, how rotten is the rest of the tank.
Get it repaired then, as mentioned, line the tank with something like POR treatment to protect it.
Alternatively, it may be cheaper to just keep an eye on fleabay for another tank, maybe post here in the parts wanted section.
Yu could always sell yours off for a couple of bucks to someone building a Cafe that wants it to chop up and use for a seat bump stop.
Wil save a good one being butchered.

Everything can be repaired, but sometimes it's cheaper and easier to get a new/used tank. Easy for me to say here in the US, but not sure about the Netherlands.

The 850 and shaft drive 1000G shared the same tank, and they are commonly available here. Maybe someone will ship one to you?

If you can get Caswell epoxy gas tank sealer over there, that seems to be the best stuff for a tank which is already leaking. Just tape some putty over any leaks before applying. It will make a hard plastic shell on the inside of the tank for you.
