I know a bit about choppers, & the Honda CB750 Honda is by far the most popular 4 cylinder bike to convert into a chopper. There are a few chopper dedicated sites, but most of the Suzuki's are Intruders, no GS's. Has anyone here ever seen/ridden a hardtail with a GS engine?

Hard tail frame
I found a Canadian source that custom makes hardtail chopper frames that fit GS engines.

I am considering building a hard tail chopper frame for my spare FJ1100 engine and parts. You really need to cruise some of those sites (I do a google search on "Japanese Choppers" or "Metric Choppers"). I have seen some GS powered ones, as well as the ubiquitous (sp?) CB750 and XS650 (Yamaha Special, 2 cylinder). Found a neat site that describes rake, trail, stretch, many other things that need to be considered for a frame. I have email the gentleman, and he seems genuinly nice, and helpful to get people started.
I plan on building my own frame. I have built roll cages in the past and still have the tubing bender.
My stock FJ engine should stomp the living poop out of those overpriced, overhyped V twin repops.
here is the link:
(I can't seem to get on it right now, but I was there yesterday)
Good Luck!

Canadian GS chopper frame?
Are you able to provide more info about this frame builder? Website? Address? Phone? I might be interested in one, too, if the price is right.

Here's the site: http://www.design-cycle.com/
There is also the 'chopperenthusiast' site, the 'CB750 mutilation society', the 'chop it & drop it' forum on Delphiforums.com, and quite a few others if you do a search.
I love the old-school choppers, they were a great influence on my childhood motorcycle fantasies; Easy Rider, Hot Wheels, Revell plastic models.
I've never owned one, and realize their limitations when it comes to comfort/handling, but damn! they look so freaking cool! I'd love to built one some day, just for fun.

Ahhh, Another seemingly sensible biker sucked into our insanity!
Check out my web site and you'll see a GS1000 powered chop.
Also go to www.redneckcycles.com.
If you have a big budget, look at the parts at www.exilecycles.com.
I'll let you know what its like to ride a hard tail this spring when mine's done.
Almost forgot, www.chopperunderground.com. Subscribe to this mag. You'll see some really different stuff.

Also try the chopper underground forum. There is a guy named Horton who builds frames with your neck for very/very reasonable prices (quoted and XS650 frame for $250).
