Ok, just realised it's been nearly 2 months since I finished the paint job, but I think I should wait another before waxing... does that sound right?

Also, I'm not happy with my initial sanding/cutting and there are some places where I still have a very minor amount of orange peel because I was too catious the first time.

If I cut again, does this affect the breating time or is the breathing time just from the last coat of paint? Pretty sure the latter is the case but just want to double check...

She really needs a bath then cut and polish at the moment...

Better to give it 90 days before waxing it, Pete. Yes, 3 months from the last coat of clear. Cutting and buffing again should be easier since it's had a good time to dry. You can use Meguiars #7 Show Car Polish on it till it's time to wax. A perfect follow-up to the buffing stage and to keep it shining.

Good stuff, thanks Larry, that should actually work out very well!

I've been using the number 7 Meguiars already, so that's worked out well too...

We have the inaugural Brissie/South East Qld GSR run planned for the 5th Feb, so going back through the thread history tells me I can give her the first coat of wax the day before on the 4th Feb so she should be all nice and shiny just in time
