Recommend me some handlebars
My bars are bent up pretty good ( among other thing's ) from the PO's crash. I'm wanting something not as far swept back as the originals, and a little lower. Not drag bar low, but maybe something halfway in between.
Can you guy's recommend me something. Pic's would be great. Thanks.

skubasteve!
I switched to daytona bars and love them. They seem to be one of the most common bars that people switch to. Can't figure out how to get a pic on here from my phone sorry. Do a search on here and you will get some pics.

Cal,
I have Superbike bars on mine. Think you've seen a picture of my bike. If you go as low as Daytona or Superbike you might want to switch the clutch and throttle cables like I did. Use the cables from a 1983 gs650m (katana) and all will be fine. Z-1 has pretty good prices on bars. I think mine were $18 plus shipping.

I just put a set of 'Norman Hyde' 'M Bars' from Bella Corse on my Bandit and I really like them. They are low and sporty but not so narrow.
Bella Corse is mostly a Triumph site handlebars are handlebars.

Thanks guy's.
Ya Charlie, I was going to ask you what bar's those were.
I borrowed some Superbike's from my son just for a test fit.
When you guy's switched bars, could you still see out of your mirror's. I thought I read somewere all a guy could see was his elbow's. But I'm not sure what bars he had. It might have been drag bars.
Here's what it looks like. It defenetly leans me forward a little. It of coarse changes the whole look of the bike. The only thing holding me back now is waiting to hear if you can still use your mirrors. So can you.

Here is a pic of my bike with a new set of European bars.
Here is a link to them:
Edit: since the board WON'T let me put extra spaces in a line I can't make a comprehensible comparison chart of the bars. Suffice it to say that Euro bars have a little less rise and a little more pullback than Superbike and Daytona bars. You can do a quick comparison right on that site I linked.Last edited by Allie; 10-02-2011, 11:30 PM."Men will never be free until Mark learns to do The Twist."

Daytona bars are the forum favorite. As always, tons of handlebar threads in the archives.Ed

MX bars here...because it was the cheapest thing the bike shop had That Day.
It's aluminum, and incredibly lightweight, but very solid feel.

Here is a brief comparison in inches of the different low bars you can get:
Width Rise Pullback Center
Superbike 29.2 3.04 3.0 4.0
Daytona 29.2 5.36 3.0 4.4
European 30.0 2.4 4.8 4.8
GP Touring 28.0 4.2 4.2 4.8
I left out drag bars, just picture an almost straight piece of pipe. I was suprised that the Euro bars have so little rise, but I love them.
Surely you can't see out of those mirror's adjusted like that,,,can you. Is that when you first put the bars on or something.

I'm glad you found the chart useful, even tho I deleted it. I'm suspicious of the rise measurement though, the Superbike bars don't look very high to me yet it says the European bars have less rise."Men will never be free until Mark learns to do The Twist."

Also. Did you have to change your choke cable too. That's a weird one on the 82 650 G.
