That's OK. My first ride on a Wing was back in '78 or '79. I considered getting one then, but decided to go with a BIG bike, instead, a KZ1300.

My current Wing is actually my first and only Wing, and I've only had it for six years (and about 85,000 miles).

No argument about being old, though.

Yanno I kinda thought the same thing when I bought the Rex. While not true rear sets they're a little more set back and up than any of my GSes. I've got a clanky hip and two trashed knees and it's actually more comfortable the GSes. Plus it makes it easier to get leverage to grip with your knees under braking or cornering IMO.

"Llyod" looks great! The cleaned up motor looks awesome, and is really set off by the clean black frame. I love big GS cafe's. Something about this enormous motor hanging out front with some clean body lines and minimal comforts just gets me. In a way sort of resembles TVR's design philosophy...

What are your plans for paint? If it were mine I would do high gloss black or silver with some tasty pin stripes. But its not mine, so do what you will.

Keep up the good work. I'm glad the bike can be there when life gets you down. Pretty sure most of us know what that is like.

Small Update:

Ive been swamped with work at the shop the last few weeks so I havent really gotten much done on my bike.

Heres what I have finished since last time:

Rear-set mounts
Bodywork on the seat
Bodywork on the tank
Lined the tank
Put the wire wheel on the rear.
Starting planning the paint scheme






Still a little ways to go but work at the shop needs to slow down before I can dedicate any time to this. Ill probably stay in NC for the holidays instead of going back to NY so Ill have a few days to work on it then, but Im in the mockup stages of another build at the moment and customer bikes always come first. Good thing winter just started....

Harder, yes, impossible, no
The more modern Suzuki shafts that run wire wheels, such as the Boulevard use the exact same rear splines as our bikes dontchaknow.
Yep, Suzuki retained the same splines right through, in fact a popluar mod it to get the new splines, as they are harder and wear longer.
So Knocking up a set of spacers and maybe lacing in a different size rim to suit you should see you good to go.
