    GS1000 Mudguard Fender Fitment

Hi, it's my first post. I've just bought a 1978 GS1000 and it's got a fibreglass front mudguard. I want to go back to chrome and was wondering if a GS750 one will fit. They look the same or similar and the wheels are the same size.

    Anyone tried this before?

    Thanks

Nick - if you go to a site with parts microfiches, you can plug in the year and model of the bikes you're interested in and see the part number. If numbers match, its likely its the same part.

      I have a 78 GS750E fender on my 79 GS1000
The fender is a tiny bit narrower then the GS1000 fender so add some washers or spread it a little.. It sits really tight to the tire.

I can stick 2 fingers between the tire and stock fender on my 78. On the 79 with the 750 fender I can't even get my pinkey in there.
Could just be the difference in tires.. I don't know for sure unless I swapped them around.

My 78 with the stock fender..
