My bike doesnt have this "extension piece". Would it be hard to fabricate something like it? Has it been done before?

That "extension piece"is the airbox cover on the 1100GK that is pictured. Your bike has a different airbox, and it has nothing to do with a fairing. Sorry, but it wouldn't have any place to go on yours.

Your sig shows a 550, but the picture is for an 1100GK.
Which one do you want?
I can not find the 550 panel on any of the fiche, and the side cover shown in the fiche does not include it.
The 1100GK panel is a separate item on the airbox fiche, but apepars to be no longer available.
You would have to look for one from an 850 or 1100 to match the one in your picture.
