Hmm, I stocked up on a few cans of the "Moto Pro" brand chain lube when cycle gear had a massive sale on it. Dries to a clear coat and never flings. Obnoxiously low pressure spray but I like it other than that.
For what it's worth, I was cleaning the garage out today and found a generic chain guard. Looks just like this drag specialties one. I bet any v-twin type of shop could help you find a generic one that will work.
I only have 750's for reference, and no swing arms or chain guards to be found. Here it is just sitting there, screwdriver through the front mounting hole and rear bracket bolt sitting on top of chain.

Haven't used a chain guard since 1979.
All my bikes since then have been shaft-driven.

Yep thought about that... was just looking for a path of least resistance I guess. Time in the garage is at a premium these days!

I was going to use one off of a newer GSXR for mine.
They are cheap, metal or aluminum and look great. They go for about $25-35 on Ebay.

I haven't purchased one yet to make fit.
I still have the suspension to weld onto the frame and an engine to build yet.
A bit more important than the chain guard at this point in time.
