I am SO stoked to be working on these rare bikes. Joe's VF1000R is next, and another Cooley should be here any time. Thanks again for the support.

Thought maybe you'd like to see another project I just finished. A different paint scheme then you might be used to seeing from me on this site, but I know you guys appreciate cool bikes. 1990 Honda RC30. Made 2 years, only a couple 100 from each from what I understand. All the parts are hand-laid, very thin fiberglass. A common problem with them seems to be the paint bubbling, some worse than others. I think they probably didn't gas out enough at the factory before being painted..my own opinion, of course.. Every square inch of these particular parts, though, had a 1/8" bubble on it. Crazy amount of time (hand) sanding them back to the original gel coat. The owner couldn't believe his eyes. Cool.

Thanks, guys. Part of the challenge on this one was to make it look as factory correct as possible leaving decal edges and just the slightest hint of orange peel. The owner wanted everything to be stone stock looking. We even had to source 3 different vendors to get the whole decal set. Big thanks to Nunzio (graphixbyjim.com), especially, for making the RC30 decals for the tail section plus the (unobtainium) petcock position, and warning stickers for the back of the seat pan.
Boy, if you don't think these were a bit-h to make..

Would you be interested in the challenge of doing an 83 1100ES? I say challenge because of the striping. Have you ever seen one? If you have access to one, look at the blue stripes REALLY close where they transition to the white & see what I mean. I have been VERY impressed with your work since I saw the first of it on this site! Thanks, Ray.

I'd sent him pics of my ES when I thought about having it repainted. His work is amazing, or rather YOUR work is amazing sir. Even if it does say Honda on it

Wow I can finally get my RC30 painted!
The devil is in the masking tape it seems.
But seriously you are one very talented man. So many fully faired bikes are raped during restoration by bad paint jobs.
That stuff looks better than new.

Ray, I'd be glad to talk to you about your ES. I'm confident I could replicate the factory paint scheme. It's almost exactly like the one I did for Nardy with the exception of the fairing. Pm me if you'd like and we can discuss the possibilities.1979 GS1000S,
