82 1100G, tailpiece broken mount tab

the front L mounting tab on the tailpiece is broken, 1/2 of it remains. I recall a tutorial on how to create/repair the mount point but can't seem to find it, appreciate a point in the right direction so that I can get this repaired and get the tail mounted for good

    Thanks!

You can weld it with a blade type soldering iron.
This is what i use, this is a permanent repair.

nothing to weld, just an empty spot .... don't have the extra broken off piece, that would have been too easy

actually went out and had another look, little if any of the tab remains. looks like I'll have to make a template from the other side and then fiberglass something up, think that was the direction of the fix-it tutorial I saw that I can't find now, if you know where that article is that would be helpful

Maybe you can weld a piece of flat abs to it.
I narrowed a gk tail with the soldering iron.
I removed the place where the reflector are.
It only need a little bondo for finishing.

Can you post a pic of your broken tab?

Glue a flat washer in its place and call it good.
It hides under the seat anyway.
