I'm going to go for it once I find a decent seat.

just an fyi more than anything else.... cutting the loooong back mudguard was the thing to do on the Katana's in the UK many years ago (any by Katana I mean the proper ones not the new fangled sportsbike wannabe later thing). this has made the uncut mudguards quite valuable now as everyone that now owns the bikes wants them back in original ish condition. not saying don't cut them as you should do whatever you like as it's your bike and all that... but ya never know, styles may change

Yeah, donor fenders can usually be had for cheap, if you don't want to damage your original, mine was already damaged, so no harm.

I had an extra one from when I purchased the bike. Nothing lost, so much gained!

I've got a spare front fender thats dented too, I'm going to cut it to see what I like, cut a little at a time, till it's where I like it. More from the top, not so much from the rear of it, don't want to sacrifice the protection it gives, especially on wet roads.

Yeah those signals look pretty nice. I've been out riding the last couple days. finally got the new brake lines bled. what a pain. took forever. I actually bought a mityvac. wasn't really a fan of it. had sealing problems. just bled them old school and they turned out just fine. messed with the carbs a bit again too. shouldn't have. now it's smoky again. haha. they were all running lean so I had to do something!

You've got something else going on then, unless your really over enrichening them, if they smoke after trying to richen them up from being lean, I'm thinking maybe you have a weak spark issue as well, which can lead to unburned fuel.

Where'd you get those smaller headlights at?

so my smoking issue was really an issue of impatience. I hadn't really ran the bike enough and when I did it was when it was cold and damp out. no more smoke. I do have my #1 pipe not heating up really fast. guessing the pickup tube from the bowl might be plugged a bit. I need to dump some seafoam in and see if it can work a bit of magic. not messing with my carbs anymore this year. also have a really sticky pilot jet on #3. I could try and back it out(it's being a pain) but it's running really good so I'm not messing with it!

Headlights?? My headlight was on there when I bought the bike(I think from a G model), if your talkng about the signals, ebay. There kinda cheap made, but look good, and seem bright enough, time will tell how they hold up, easy enough to change bulbs, ordered an extra set in case of breakage, like I said, they were cheap.

now I wish I would have went even shorter with my rear fender. if I do that I'll have to get a new taillight though since mine would be pointing at the sky! It does make a darn good helmet holder though! hehe. turn signals look much nicer too. I'll have to pick up a set of them.

That's probably the only reason I was disappointed to see my stock turn signals go, they held my helmet perfectly while it was locked up!
