how to remove krauser side bags?

so im working on a 81 gs750 (full dresser) and its got a set of Krauser side bags, for the life of me i cant remove them, ive turned the key and tried pulling, pushing, yanking, still nothing, is there a trick to them or something? i really need to adjust the chain, and it would be 100 times easier if those bags were off, but they wont give help please

Turn the key on the rear latch, push the latch in and swing the rear out.

If they're locked, they are all keyed the same so perhaps someone locally can get 'em unlocked for you. I'm pretty sure the BMW bags are keyed the same too in case you have a buddy with a vintage beemer.
