Stainless Allen Bolts: Where to buy?!

You can buy them in bulk from McMastersCarr. With Fastenal you can order any quantity you wish but they are more expensive.

Stainless steel socket head bolts (allen head) come in various finishes. The smooth head bolts are not typically found in local hardware stores. The heads on all the bolts we obtain are smooth - and for many of them, they are tumble polished with polishing media for up to 3 full days before going into the bins and into kits.

Most of the companies selling bolts will provide you a mixed bag of finishes - some knurled/serrated, some smooth, some shiney, some not - as they source them as a common commodity from a multitude of suppliers.

Not all lengths are easily available. We cut down longer bolts to the size required using a machine developed for us - a special cutoff tool that cuts and chamfers the ends of the bolts in a single pass.

the engine bolt kits these guys sell are top notch......

even though they sent me the wrong kit the first time around,,,,they made it right and shipped me a whole new kit free.......

all the other SS bolts I needed I sourced out near me, and found a local place that has just about everything I needed....

nice site glad they are in a set. Their Carb set doesn't include the rail fasteners.

I got my set from Z1 as well. Changing them in for the original hex bolts was just a couple of hours (if that) of one-at-a-time exchanges. (Some of the stockers needed a little persuading to let go). No need to drain the oil or anything.
