Doing the LSU looks like you took an awesome custom bike and had a 15 year old child with down syndrome do the graphics.
No offence if you did. My cousin has down syndrome... she loves to paint.

I do love the yellow and stripe... it looks 1000x better with the dents yellow.
    Exactly my point.
Just didn't put it into words.

After looking at these closer, they may not work out too good unless you do some trimming on them.

Find triumph ones... theyre more rounded and a little taller in the back. Or just use skateboard grip-tape. Cut it to shape and stick it on. I'm planning on using this on my non dented 78CE tank.

I wanted to get a couple extra tanks to play around with.
My original and only tank is in three pieces, waiting on me to weld it back together.
One of the things I wanted to try was to put in some knee pads.
Instead of trying to dent the tank uniformly, I was going to try another method.
Like cutting out the patches on each side of the tank and weld them to the opposite side.
But first, I'd like to get a stock tank as a replacement, and leave it stock.

If there were a white/purple decal, I would do that.

Using some plastic stencil sheets and graph paper, I am refining the tape work to better shoot the 'S' portion. Basically with the logo drawn out on the paper, I am pre-cutting some "delicate finish" masking tape into the proper shape and dry fitting it to the plastic sheet. Then I can transfer the tape pieces to the tank.

The "L" and the "U" are really just box letters, so taping those is pretty easy. The inspiration is this:

            Just without the tiger graphic.

Well holy crap... If that were your inspiration you actually did an ok job. Haha... I just think its got to be all or none... mixing fonts looks less than good. If you did the logo exactly like the helmet I'd say itd be a lot cleaner. Then... move your side cover emblems to the sides of the rear seat hump and put a clean suzuki sticker on the side covers.

I know of the Chinese Bandits, but that was long before my time. Went to grad school there in the 90's.

OK - after 2 more tries that had to be stripped, I may be onto something.

Here is where I am so far, before taping off the purple stripes, "L" and "U" and an outline around the "S":

Some pre-sketching on the Suzuki S revealed that it is not just a right angle at the top/bottom. Using some 3-4-5 triangles gets me much closer to the logo shape. I did not try to tape in the slight convex lines to truly match the logo, because I am sure to bollocks that detail.

There's a tiny bit of purple bleed through on the logo, but I have a white touch up bottle that should tighten that up later.

Tonight I will tape off the other bits and shoot the yellow. Fingers crossed that nothing goes pear-shaped, crazes, etc.

It needs a much bigger "S".

Maybe you are just being glib.

If you're serious, the S is around 3 1/2" in height, and roughly equal width. The L and U will be aligned on the same horizon, but scaled down to a 2 1/2" height.

Also the S will have a thin purple border, making it slightly larger.

When I first got this bike running. I wanted people to at least know that it was a Suzuki without spending money for all of the missing factory stickers.

When I was just having a Suzuki "S" sticker made for the tank, I saw that the factory "S" on some other models were 2".
I was thinking that 3" would be better. Wrong! It would have just looked STUPID and cartoonish.
So, I had them made in 2.5"
Even with the huge-looking tank, they still might be a little bit too large...

It is your bike and you are going to be the one that is seen on it, not me.

                            Just sayin'

I hear ya. My angle is to go a bit splashier with an "LSU" logo that folds in the Suzuki bit. Thus, like your bike, it signals the Suzuki origin, but within a blast of Tiger love.

Finally finished that tank, but I still need to wet sand and polish it.

There are a few sins left in the tape work, and I should have done a couple more rounds of sanding before painting, as a couple areas still slightly show the transition from metal to bondo. Call it a 20' paint job, I guess.

                                Here are some pics.
