No wonder I hate my headlight

I searched the part number (number on housing) HM-43M, and it's from a Honda.
So that's why the PO glued the headlight into the bucket. He also cut it, breaking it in the process.

Just the fact that it is a Honda is no reason to hate it.

In fact, one of the best headlights I have ever had the privelege of riding behind is on my GoldWing.

The fact that the bucket was butchered is reason enough to hate the guy that did it, though.

Just find a new bucket, get a decent lens/reflector assembly from Candlepower, stick an H4 bulb in there and GO RIDE.

I don't hate it because it's Honda. I hate it because it looked wrong on my bike.
And it's ugly. Finding a new bucket is not that easy. I've been looking.
I really need a complete new assembly. Except the h4 bulb. I have a good bulb.

One of the best lights I have ever had on Jennifer was off a Honda CX500, must be something to do with the lens or something, but the light spread and intensity was far superior to the stock 1000G unit, will fit another one again if I find one.
That in no way means I like a CX500, I think those evil things are the spawn of Satan himself.

Not sure if you've found one yet, but I put this one on my '80 GS550ET last summer:
          http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-h4-halogen-headlight-gs450-gs425-gs750-gs550-gs650-gs850-suzuki-/120948967301?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp= mtr&hash=item1c291ec785
I also bought an H4 LED bulb to go with it. everything is super bright and I can actually see where I'm going (even at night in the rain!!!). These guys shipped pretty fast also and were good people to deal with.

Oh and it's a metal light housing so you won't have to worry about it breaking or getting brittle with age, heat, etc.

            Great price with shipping.
Does it clear the ignition switch?

It bolted right up to mine, I did need to switch the High/low beam wiring to match the LED bulb plug, but I was rewiring everything anyways while changing over to LED turn signals in my fairing and saddle bags... the pic on my signature is just before I finished with everything. I'll take some more in the next week or so and post newer ones of my finished baby.

Oh, to answer your question, I didn't notice any clearance problems with anything (and my bike has the choke between the triple trees, next to the ignition).
