Hi, I am late to the party so I have a few questions. You are using spray cans? Enamel? What brand? How many cans of paint, how many of clear? Looking to get started on my T over the winter.

I used Plasticote (I think) automotive enamel. (a Chrysler shade of silver) 3 coats. Then SprayMax 2k High gloss clear, also 3 coats. It's a 2 part clear in the same aerosol can. I got it from here: http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_2_part_2k_aerosol.cfm

Awesome product! sprays very nice, lays out nice and uniform, super easy to work with.

Thanks, I was just looking at their site, lots of great stuff. Dang you for doing silver! Now I am going to have to put some thought into colors. Paint looks real good!

Thanks, took a long time to decide between silver, or the fail safe black. Eventually I'm going to add the original graphics scheme in a like a charcoal gray...

Silver and black go together well.

Nice job! I am going to repaint my 81 1100E Silver with Charcol Gray stripes and either Black pinstripes or Suzuki Blue pinstripes. Where did you get the D&D Pipe for your Rocket????

I wasn't so sure about the silver, but now the more I look at it the more I love it.
The D&D came with the bike. I did however do a google search on them not long ago, and they are very available, and very expensive. I think D&D has a website you can buy direct from? Very loud, very throaty.

Great choice! In my experience silver is the easiest color to paint, and maintain, black is the hardest....

Just the opposite for me. Black is too easy to shoot. That's half the reason I went with silver. Lol
