Where did you get the non wimpy Allen screws?

I got the lead like stock screws off but really want to replace them with something like wat you have on yours.

It would seem that Mr. Barr only sells the cap screws for the boots. I would like a set for the carbs (caps, and float bowls) Does Mr. Steve happen to know the size of those???

            No, but Mr. Suzuki does.

Go to the parts fiche for your bike, look at the carb fiche.

Find the screws in question, look at the part number.

Unless you are looking at Bike BANDIT's site, the size of the screw is right after the dash in the middle of the part number.

For example: if the screw part number is 02112-05168, it is an M5 x 16 screw.

This is where I got my cap and bowl SS Allen Screws. They sell on ebay, which is where I got mine.

I bought the rest of the screws at Fastenal locally.

IIRC Z1 also sells sets of new carb screws. Those might include the integrated lock washers too.

I really can't wait. Just need to attach the tach cable. Hook up some fuel with my auxiliary tank and start her up. Hope to have time to do that tomorrow. If not, Friday for sure!

More detailed explano ! If you read through the carb tutorial on in the site you'll see what I did.

Berrymans - Carb Dip - Got mine at Wal-Mart

Spray - Sprayed with Carb cleaner after dipping (learned to wear eye protection the hard way with this!)

Rinse with what - Hot Water - there was a little scrubbing involved as well.

is that paint "gas proof" - I used the same paint that I used on my motor. Duplicolor Engine Enamel - "Aluminum" - Primer then paint. Is it "gas proof?" It says that it is resistant. But I'm assuming that it isn't and taking precautions to keep fuel off the paint. We'll see how long that lasts.

Thanks ! - You're welcome. Have fun, take your time and post pics.
