That heat gun trick really works!

    Started with this crusty piece

Got it looking a bit better with Plast-X polish but it still bugged me.

Had the heat gun out to do some shrink wrap on The Skunk,So I turned it on this.Much better!.Do have to be careful though, slightly melted the airbox on The Skunk

Hard to tell by those pictures.
What exactly did you use the gun on?

Do you think that might work on the windshield?

The heat gun trick will work but the parts go grey quickly again.
Paint is the only real fix.

Jeep flares are nasty fady bits and the heat gun just does not last long.

Before, other side was worse but forgot to get the camera

Heat it till it gets shiny, can see it on the bottom here.

              Cools to a nice finish.
JR sounds like a material problem on those flares.

decided to tidy up all the electrics on the GS today after seeing another thread about tidy electrics. starting at the front i removed the headlight completely, the clocks and the l/h handlebar switch.
wondering how i could tidy up the black plastic sheathing that suzuki covered the wiring looms with (not heat shrink) as they were all wrinkly and not very flexible.
then the heat gun came to mind so i thought i would give it a go.WOW, it works a treat, irons out all the wrinkles and leaves the looms nice and supple and flexible.
here is the clocks loom before..........

and after the heat gun treatment........
