cafe fairing fit

My headlamp measures 7" across. But with housing, it's 8."
So do I have the big headlight or the small one?
I'm looking to put a cafe fairing on this 1981 gs 650E.

The measurement is of the headlamp itself. Sounds like you have the 7"

I put a cafe fairing on my 82 gs650e dennis kirk as them for around $50 bucks its worth it for the look. People see my bike and think its an old cafe bike even the Harley guys I ride with are impressed.

I found that older Shoei cafe fairings are abundant, fit well, and look nice. Steele's in Denver has a LOT of them in their loft. (Any Colorado GSers... take a look upstairs, to the right when you enter the warehouse area. Woof!)

Look for other MC scrapyards and see what they have squirreled away. There are some sweet looking cafe fairings out there to be had for a pittance.
