    Duplicolor Vinyl Paint

Has anyone had any experience with this or another vinyl paint? Good results? Bad results?

I used some to repaint the plastic bits in the interior of a '66 Dodge Charger I used to have. Came out pretty nice and seemed to stay on there nicely.

I used plastic paint from eastwood for a number of projects and good results.
You also need to use plastic prep.

I did on a car seat, it came off soon enough.

I did on a GS1100E seat that had been professionally recovered and looked really nice, but it was in a weird burgundy/purple color.

I applied three coats of the vinyl paint, letting each coat thoroughly dry before applying the next. I then let the paint cure for a couple weeks before doing anything with it.

That was a year ago. It still looks shiny, it doesn't wear off on your butt, and nobody can tell the vinyl wasn't originally black.

            Good stuff.

Yes, if you prep properly and use decent paint, it shouldn't come off.
I have used the eastwood plastic paint on motorcycle seats, truck upholstery, etc. (It has been on my GS seat for years and looks like new.)

I had excellent results with that product just last week. Washed and scrubbed with brush and Simple Green, wiped down after dry with alcohol and sprayed. You cannot tell it was sprayed. So far its holding up.

If your seat is black, and you want it to stay black, try black shoe polish. The liquid stuff that comes in a bottle that you rub on via the little spongie thingie on top. I've done that on a couple old bike seats and it came out really nice. Takes 2 or 3 coats. Let dry good between coats.

I actually have used it on leather and vinyl, besides shoes and belts, and it does work! (Fortunately, I wear black pants....)

I've heard from some who say if you use it on a seat your butt may change color down the road a piece.
