    Yamaha carb dip

Has anyone used Yamaha carb dip,can the complete assembled carb be dipped for mainly cleaning the exterior without damage to orings and diaphragms?

If you are dipping your carbs correctly, all orings and other small parts will have been removed from the carb first anyway. Only the bodies, bowls, and metal pieces (jets) need to go into the dip.

Do yourself a great big favor and go to this website by a member here. Get yourself a good set of screwdrivers that fit the different screws and jets snuggly, order new orings from cycleorings.com (Robrert Barr from this site), get organized and follow the tutorial step by step. It may sound intimidating at first but you can do it and do it right the first time

Yes, I've used it , but on a set of VM carbs and they were disassembled. I would use again. With this dip, you can mix (with water) a stronger strength if you want. I slow boiled each carb on a portable burner outside for 30 minutes each, rinse with carb cleaner followed by compressed air. Like other say here, it would be a waste of time to clean carbs without replacing all orings and take the jets off and cleaning them.

Not just a waste of time. Dipping carbs with rubber parts still installed will destroy the rubber parts, REQUIRING them to be replaced. Depending on how any particular rubber part decided to disintegrate, it might go in and clog up a fuel passage, making your "cleaning" job rather counter-productive.

Come on. As a retired mechanic you should be painfully aware that THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS.
