Cleaning Rims
I'm getting ready to have new tires put on my 1982 GS850L, and I wanted to know if anyone know a way to get them looking new again. I'm assuming that with the tires off is the best time. I thought maybe sandblasting ans then painting with some whell chrome paint, but not sure how well that will work. Any sugestions?Tags: None

Well I don't know about blasting in's or out's because I have never done that to rims but I am sure that a safe medium would work well and then just clear seal them. Or paint if going with a color. I would avoid the chrome paint, it always comes out looking just like what it is and you will regret it.
As for cleaning them, I was so happy with what I found that I gotta brag it up againCheck this thread out --> http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...ic.php?t=18945
Maybe if you clean them up you may like them the way they are. If they are heavily corroded or pitted you may want to go the blasting route then. I know Katman put a chrome looking shine on his rims by sanding them, you can see that here --> http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...hlight=#139213
