    GSX 750 ES - Black/Gold compilation

    Hi folks.

Since I do not plan to make a major rebuild of my GSX 750 ES I choose to create the thread here.

the idea is to make small changes with new look on the bike

This thread is made so that I can put new pictures and status changes what happens to my motorcycle and new visual changes,

i will soon be posting some new photos and be working more on the bike, when i got the time.

    Exhaust bracket broken and fixed.

Here recently broke my exhaust bracket. It ended up that I had to remove the entire exhaust system to weld the bracket back together and reinforce it.

During removal of the exhaust pipes, One of the bolts broke because of rust. it was nearly impossible to remove.

Finally, I did it and I chose to install brand new stainless steel bolts, so the problem does not occur anymore.

New custom cnc machined handlebar plate + bar ends

      New update, new visual change.

Custom cnc machined handlebar plate with 4 stainless steel allen bolt and black anodized. very unique as no one else have this.

I finally bought the matching bar ends for my grips.

        LED bulbs in speedo

When i did the replacement of the original to led bulbs in the speedo, i didnt know it was going to show as yellow light, even though i bought the led bulbs in xenon white.

here is a pic of how it looks like now.

Those leds make a big difference, I did them on all my bikes. Even easier to see in daylight. terrylee

Thank you, i agree. It was a nice view that day.

I still think the bike could need some more work. definitely on the brakes.

It clearly makes a difference, but it depends on what led bulbs you buy and how well the light is distributed throughout the speedometer.

Mine is LED SMD bulbs, so no ordinary led as my experience with them wasn't good in the past.

Lots to do in the upcoming winter.

At the end of fall, winther is coming, she aint happy of her condition and needs an overhaul several locations.

Brake light needs to be fixed, only works with rear brake.
                  Horn needs to be fixed/replaced.
                  New chain kit is needed.
Old brake pads needs to be replaced.
Old brake discs with rust needs to be replaced.
                  Need new dot4 brake oil.
                  Speedometer needs to be fixed/replaced.
Need new oil drain plug to stop leaking.

This and other stuff i might forgot to add.

Some nice editions to your bike and that list of "to do's" should give you something to occupy the long and dark winter months. I guess your riding year is like ours, about 5 months of riding and 7 of hibernation, er I mean wrenching. Plenty of time to spruce her up.

I had an 83 750 for 5 years up until this spring when I sold her and downsized to a 550. Another one of the mistakes (in a long list) in my life. I wish now I had not done that. For me, that bike was near perfect. Powerful and comfortable. I sold it as I was feeling it was getting heavy to push around the garage and I was afraid of dropping it. I wanted something lighter. What I forgot was that a lighter bike to push around also is a lighter bike on the road and easily pushed around by cross winds and vehicle pressure waves. It's not as planted or comfortable.

So now I'm on the lookout for another one or maybe a 1000 , 1100 or 1150. sometimes bigger is better.

Well enjoy your winter wrenching and keep the pics coming.

                    Cheers,

                      Memories and decisions.

Hey thanks. As long as she is getting in good shape again, i will enjoy riding in next season. The riding year is just like yours, the only months i'm not riding is winter. Although i need some new tools to spruce her up, it might take all the time before she is ready again.

You should never had sold it, if you were so happy about it. You are right about the weight but in the end it is nice not to get pushed around so lightly by the wind. Now that you've had a 750'er, why not upgrade and go for a 1000. Of course you can always just go for a 750'er again.

My GSX 750 ES fell to the ground because of the side stand in late summer.

You too. when you get there. I will see to that.

sounds like a nice list to get to once the snow starts to fly....

for the rear brake, when you pull the front brake lever there is a contact switch under the handle, check it, clean it, adjust it, this might resolve that.

just clean up the brake discs, you will find they are very expensive to replace, and if they are not worn to thin, just use them, I took a wire brush on a drill to clean mine up, painted the inside and they look as good as new.

if your replacing the brake oil, get new Stainless Steel brake lines
get a hold of this guy, he will set you up and his prices can't be beat, got all my lines for 120 bucks

you can get an oversize drain plug that will tap it's self new threads and add the new crush washer and you should be good to go, and that oil leak will be no more.

the rest, sounds like a easy replacement with new parts, except the speedometer, maybe it's just a bad cable ?

have fun and keep the pics coming...

I commented before, I really like your clipon's and the way the handlebars now sit, really looks good, would love to do the same to my bike...

                        Cheers

Unfortunately he is going to be too busy to do that this wrenching season

They do look good mind you.

                              Tasks and methods

Yeah, it should get me going somewhere

I have already checked the front brake contact. i have a new part, that i can replace to get the problem off for good.

I could do that, although i have the original brake discs laying around and want to add them to the bike, hoping that i will get better braking, if i'm lucky enough

The brake oil, has'nt been replaced since i got it. I like the idea about stainless steel brake lines though i'm trying to not use too much money on the bike. It has not succeded yet for me

As for the oil drain plug. I have already bought a new one, that should fit. But the old threads might give me trouble. I will have that in mind when replacing it.

Some of the tasks might be easy in a way, other a challenge.

Thanks i appreciate it. I like it too. I like your bike.
