    gsxr control questions

    once again i have found more cheap and or free parts...

    i can get the gsxr controls from an 05? 600...i know the master cylinder will have to have its own mount...

    but will the old gs brake line fit the gsxr cylinder? as well as the clutch cable?...i should would like to have those nice adjusatble handles lol

    the brake line and the clutch cable will fit just fine
    1978 GS1085.

    Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!

      With the GSXR controls (at least the more modern ones), the master cylinder is built in with the whole unit. It should just bolt up to your 7/8th's bars, I wouldn't reuse your stock lines though.

        I'm running an '03 GSX-R600 master cylinder on my '78 GS1000. It works just fine and everything matches up, except I had to get a banjo bolt with a pressure switch built in for the brake light because the GSXR m/c doesn't have the mechanical switch like the old m/c did.

          awesome...im glad to hear it will work....i guess the gixxer brake lines are the same as well?...any other things i should grab?

            The brake lines may be to short for your 850 front end.

              the 03 gsxr600 should have a brake light switch on the master cylinder, yours must be missing, here is the fiche picture showing it........No.5

              1978 GS1085.

                Ok then, the m/c I have is missing the switch so I went with a pressure switch banjo bolt. Either way.

                  well i am getting it all for free...will the newer gsxr calipers fit too?...what else should i grab for a fairly easy upgrade
