What is the OFFICIAL name of this color?

    This is my new-to-me GS...
    It is a 1983 GS650L .
It appears redish/brugundy to me but I realize Suzuki had a NAME for this color...But I have no idea what they called it...
The color charts I find online are tough to use as I do not know the actual paint code numbers either...
But I have learned that the community here is expert in all things GS so ...Here is my plea....
What is the actual Suzuki official name of this color...?

When in doubt, go to the source, the official parts fiche.

All the different paints were item #7 on the fiche, show a quantity of 1 and show that you get 80 grams in the container.

    7 99000-10109-019 PAINT (BLACK) 1 90G
    7 99000-10109-291 PAINT (BLACK SEMI-GLOSS) 1 90G
    7 99000-10209-05N PAINT (BURGUNDY METALLIC) 1 90G
    7 99000-10209-12R PAINT (SILVER METALLIC) 1 90G
    7 99000-10209-14A PAINT (ROYAL MAROON) 1 90G

      Maybe I mis spoke myself...
I really don't need the mixture....just the overall name of the color...
      Like in my sig line..
My Goldwings are Pearl Blue and Cobalt Blue (custom)

So the 650 would be called by the original factory name of...?
      Burgundy Metallic...? Royal Maroon..?

Well, since you want to get PICKY about it, ...

The '83 650G came in two colors.
          Black with red stripes

          and red.

The parts fiche says that the red on the G was 99000-10209-05L PAINT (CANDY IMPERIAL MAROON)

So, ... I guess that the darker color on your GL tank is probably the Burgandy Metallic and the lighter color is the Royal Maroon.
Hard to say for sure, though, as the color codes are not the same for the two "maroon" colors.
