not sure which way to go with my seat

i have a 1981 gs450l. i just got the rear frame hoop welded on and now i am stuck. I don't know what to do about the seat. i was thinking of making a cafe seat and then i saw the brat style. now i don't know which direction to go. my ultimate goal is to keep weight to a minimum, while keeping it functional and clean looking. any ideas or pictures of your custom made seats is appreciated. here is how the rear section of the bike looks minus the seat. thanks for your time

I would go with a brat style seat but you'll catch a lot of flack on this site since your not building an original restoration.

Similar rear end on Wally's "Yaweh" Tribute bike, post 146

Are you doing a restoration project of some kind on a GS? Let everyone see what you are doing by posting the details here.

he wont get any flack if it looks good and he does a proper tidy job, rather than a botched hack job.......

i should be paying attention in my accounting class, but i found a side view of my 450. i don't have a full side view. the bike has the stock L tank and 0 up, 3" back drag bars.

i got a quote of $130 for a seat using marine grade vinyl or $175 if i have have them stitch lettering on the back of the seat. The plan is relocate my electronics and then make the seat pan.
