1983 GS1100E blue color
Has anyone actually found a source to buy the 1983 GS1100E blue paint. I've read the threads with the paint codes and color listed as "17 S- Starry Blue Metallic". I've called Color Rite, Suzuki, and autobody supply stores, and all I get is "Huh?" ! Any help would be appreciated.Tags: None

I waiting to see who will respond to this because I am in need of the same color of paint for my '83 GS1100e. I looked all over the net and couldn't find anything that indicates where to get it or if there is a good match for it. I lined up to start painting my bike in May (see GS1200SS Clone thread).
Good luck and I will let you know if and when I find out something to answer this question.

I went with these guys for my "Candy Fancy Maroon" touch up paint for my '82 GS1100E. That bike has 3 different layers, a base metalic, a transparent maroon, and a gloss clear coat.
I furnished them the paint codes.

Hey Battleship62....I'll keep you updated. That 17-S code Stary Blue Metallic is useless. You'd have better luck with a Sherman Williams house paint chart! I just dropped off a pint (paint, not beer!), at the body shop, it's a Chevy color that has possibilities depending on the base coat. The same shop also has a guy coming by tomorrow to try his match....I'll keep you (and anyone else that's following ),updated. I only have to do my side panels. If your doing all your body pieces, you could maybe get away with less of an exact match. Stay tuned!

Any good paint or body shop should be able to match the paint. A friend of mine came by with a DuPont Spectrophotometer, took a reading of my tank, then matched the paint for my scratched front fender.
