Cheap windscreen kits on eBay - any experience?

Hey there guys, I was looking at windscreen kits on eBay and found this one:

$55 shipped and seems to have everything in there that you need.

Anyone have any experience with these? Or, failing that, enough knowledge to know any better?

I spent about $10 and got a piece of perspex off eBay locally, spent $5 on a piece of scrap aluminium, and made a fly screen... lasted me about 18 months 'til one bracket fatigued and broke due to vibration a few weeks back on our GSR/Katana ride. Making up new brackets now...

I know that doesn't really answer your question though...

It is rather difficult to see that screen in the picture, but if it's anything like the one pictured on the bike, it is similar to one that my son has on his 650L.

Click on the link in my sig to see a picture of "Rat Bagger". It is a screen that is much smaller than I usually run, but it fits well, works well enough and it was free.

The biggest thing to watch for on those screens is the mounting system. Some have a only pair of clamps that attach to the handlebars, others will have a four-point mounting system that has braces that reach down to the fork legs. Obviously, the four-point mount is MUCH sturdier.

Cheers Steve, that sounds like what I'm after. I think the kit only has handlebar mounts but I can always work around a solution if I need.

I'll pull the trigger on a kit and see how it goes.
