    trunk and windshield options

Looking for some good options for storage and wind protection. Right now I have a lugage rack behind a sisi bar (bike came that way) and this is a pic of her:

I'm thinking of loosing the sisi bar and getting a bolt on trunk to the rear rack that has a rear pad for the passenger. Don't really want a full fairing so looking at a plexy windshield.

    Any thoughts?

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

The ISO grips are the stuff! I went with the black chrome version on my 850L.

Keep your eye on ebay for a hard bag kit. I got a GK kit for my L. I went with a Vetter Windjammer on this one but I have also run SlipStreamer wind screens on other bikes. I liked the Hell Fire for my Maxim and the Spit Fire for my Seca. I have one of the original SlipStreamers that came with my L but it really didn't fit it well. The bar mounts are good but the hardware that mounts to the head light /fork area didn't match up very well.

You can see a preview of a National Cycle PlexiFairing 3 on another '82 850L by clicking on the link in my signature for my wife's bike.

The trunk on her bike is a vintage Wixom. Found in a shop that restores BMWs, but looks just right on the L.

I just put a SlipStreamer S-08 on my GS850G and I'm pretty happy with it. Fairly cheap and works well. Took a couple rides to adjust to my height but that was easy. http://slipstreamer.com/Product/Touring/touring.html

Not a good picture to feature the shield but here it is on mine:

Guess it will just depend on your personal taste.

It looks to me like your rack is a K&G rack, I have a K&G trunk that slips right onto that rack. Found it on eBay of course.

I had a K&G rack on an 1100G that I rode the length of Rte 66 many yrs ago. Had the matching trunk as well. I was very impressed with both its appearance and its build quality. Haven't seen one in awhile.
