Let a few other members chime in before trying this. Do not know if it would discolor your exhaust or not.(try in small not well seen area first) A rag soaked in (cant think of the name) the stuff in nail polish remover. Wrap rag around melted goo. Pour some acetone on rag. (remembered) Pour some more on every half hour as acetone evaporates quickly until able to rub off.

Heat up your exhaust a bit, put some easy-off oven cleaner on a rag, and then start wiping off the melted plastic bag.
Depending on how much is melted onto your exhausts, you might need to repeat a few times.
After you're done removing the melted plastic bag, wash the exhaust with Simple Green (or your favorite cleaner) in order to remove the oven cleaner.
Easy peasy ... been there a few times. It also very easily cleans up melted boot marks.2000 Honda Valkyrie Tourer (it's gone)

Is that supposed to be the bike in your signature?
The '80 1100L was chain-driven and had a 16-valve engine.
That bike is an 8-valve shafty 1000, which would be a 1000GL.
