    need measurments from a G

i need measurments from a stock uncut G model..

i need from the back of the tank(where seat goes) to the end of the bike..

OK, need to get a bit more specific here.

"Back of the tank", as in rear-most edge of the tank itself, or would you consider something like the mounting bolt to the frame?

"End of the bike", as in the end of the frame or the rear-most edge of the tail light or whatever the first thing is that touches a wall when you back up to it?

Tell us exactly what you are looking for, maybe even what you are trying to do, we can help you a bit better.

sorry i wasnt more detailed...the mounting bolt to the end od the bottom of the tail light.

ive found some cheap hard bags, and while converting bike back to stock i wanna see if these will work..

and also, i have found my stock tail section, but missing the plastic rear fender(i have the plastic inner fender)

do those seperate or is the plastic rear fender/plastic peice one peice..

OK, I can get them for you this evening.

The fender is two pieces. The "inner" fender is the one that covers the front part of the wheel, under the seat. The other half is the part that sticks out under the tail light.
I have the plastic fender (rear half) available. Painted a 'lovely' teal color by the previous owner, but I think it's intact. Looking at the picture, I see a small chip on the lower edge. I sort of know where it is, but we did some cleaning and re-arranging in the garage over the weekend, and I will need to find that box.

yes the outside fender under the tail light is exactly what mine is missing..

im almost 100% sure if i sand my tail section down (has chips like yous pictured an then some) that i can re-use it.

my frame i can make(have a super good welder on hand now)unless i come up with even more cash and just get a rear frame peice

          then i need a stock g seat

Be aware that these measurements may be different on 79-81 G models vs. 82+.

Those stock seats seem to be difficult to come by. I've been looking for a stock seat to re-upholster for mine for awhile now but haven't found anything I thought was worth the price (ebay seems high to me considering the poor condition of most seats).

I have a double-bucket seat that's in near perfect condition, but I'm not sure if it came stock with the 1980 model. I feel like it's an '81 part. I like it but I find that it constricts my movement across the seat.

I'd like try something flatter like the Giuliari but I have no idea where you get one of those...

It might help if you add your location to your profile, and put your bike in your signature.....

Are you certain that your bike is a 1981? It looks more like a 1982.
